With PROMETHEUS the cause of much debate during the summer months, we were hoping we’d find the answer to a number of those controversial questions posed with the recent release DVD/Blu-ray of Ridley Scott’s ALIEN kind-of-prequel. Did you find those answers? I’m being cheap and waiting for the January sales to pick up my copy, I did after all see it twice at the cinema plus there’s a bloody recession going on in the world, still. I suspect that there may be some still waiting and we expect sequel PARADISE to hopefully wrap things up nicely and explain a little more…
In the meantime, we have the first look at some alternative concept art from the stunning sci-fi thriller that never made it into the final film. Writer Jon Spaihts has recently confirmed in his first draft (before Damon Lindolof rewrote the script) that Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) was the original victim of the squid-like chestburster after having his drink spiked by Michael Fassbender’s synthetic android David. Spaihts also added that the creature would have made it’s gory entrance during a sex scene involving Dr. Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and we’re able to bring you the rather graphic concept art for that spectacle later substituted for the ‘caesarean’ scene.
