UK Fans of stateside supernatural crime series GRIMM, don’t have much longer to wait for the return their beloved hit show on these shores. We have the official press release from UK broadcaster Watch that gives all the details of what we can expect from the second season which finally gets underway on the 22nd October. We also have the new extended teaser trailer for this forthcoming new season below.

Watch is thrilled to announce the return of US supernatural crime drama, GRIMM. Lock your doors and locate your pillows – the fairytales you knew about as a youngster are coming back to haunt you once again! From the executive producers of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, and inspired by the classic Grimm Brothers’ Fairy Tales, you are once again invited to witness the fantastical world of police work set in Portland, Oregon, where all cases have a storybook connection… but not always a happy ever after. After Portland Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) discovers he’s descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as ‘Grimms’, he increasingly finds his responsibilities as a detective at odds with his new responsibilities.

His attempts to shield his fiancée, Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch), and his partner, Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby), from the hazards of his new life have reached a crisis, leaving Juliette in a mysterious coma and Hank on the verge of a mental breakdown.

With help from his confidants, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) – both reformed Wesen (enemies of the Grimm family) – Nick must help those closest to him while still facing off against all manner of ancient evils, including royal lines dating back to the original profilers themselves, the Grimm Brothers. As Nick develops his ability to harness his inner Grimm, he begins to question what he once knew, never more so than when he is reunited with his mother (guest star Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), also a Grimm, whom he thought dead for the past 20 years.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
