SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN director Rupert Sanders has been in the press for all the wrong reasons this year, which is a shame because his directing for that film was pretty solid, even more so when you consider the fact it was his first film. There have been lots of questions and rumours regarding what Rupert Sands will do next and the latest is quite an interesting one. The latest report has him being considered for THE JULIET a sci-fi romance based on a short story by Alfred Bester. It is considered to be similar in tone to BONNIE AND CLYDE, and is set in the near future. The film is being produced by Sony Pictures and New Regency Films with a script by Henry Bean.
Recently Sanders has also been dropped when considering directors for 90 CHURCH: THE TRUE STORY OF THE NARCOTICS SQUAD FROM HELL and the Tom Cruise starring reimagining of VAN HELSING. Sanders also stated that he was working on another sci-fi film, which he labeled as THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS in space. There is still no word on where this leaves a SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN sequel.
