These days if you want your movie to be truly mammoth, then you need to grab the audience in Asia as well as in the English speaking world. It’s good to see then, that THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY has released an international TV spot. It’s all footage we’ve seen before, but what I find most interesting is how Western trailers often hide the fact that a film is in a foreign language, whereas here no attempt is made to disguise that fact. THE HOBBIT is the prequel to Peter Jackson’s epic LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, which first appeared in cinemas a decade ago. THE HOBBIT tells the tale of how Bilbo Baggins came into possession of the one ring to rule them all.
THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY is released 14th December 2012. It stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lilly, Elijah Wood, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Richard Armitage, Orlando Bloom, Christopher Lee, Aiden Turner, Ian Holm, Billy Connolly, and Lee Pace.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
