Here’s a look for the poster for Kimberly Peirce’s remake of CARRIE. The film sees Chloe Grace Moretz as a sheltered high school student who gradually develops telekinetic powers after being constantly bullied. We would just like to point out that THN in no way endorses this as an effective or reliable way of gaining superpowers. Far from being about a superhero, this is a horror with a strong anti-bullying message. Kimberly Peirce is best known for her astonishing and shocking 1999 film BOYS DON’T CRY, and from that I can clearly see why she was chosen to head this remake.
The first poster claims ‘You Will Know Her Name’, but then foolishly forget to include her name on the poster. It’s just like those morons that text you and just assume you have their name saved in your phone. Luckily I stalk Carrie on Facebook, I mean… follow developments in the film world closely. So I already know her name. In actual fact, I haven’t forgotten her name since I first saw the original Brian De Palma film. In all seriousness though it is a rather haunting poster, and should get those that don’t know her name interested in the film.
CARRIE is released 5th April 2013. It stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde, Alex Russell, and Michelle Nolden.
