If you’d been lucky enough to catch the amazingly cool test trailer for THE GOON a couple of years ago, you’ll know the project has been much anticipated by fans of Eric Powell’s unique comic-book series and those of us damn impressed with that footage. Sadly, no studio has come forward to finance a full length feature for the big-screen treatment, possibly thinking ‘Who is going to pay to see an adult-themed animation effort?’. Well, I bloody do because it looks great and producer David Fincher and Blur Studios have turned to film funding website ‘Kickstarter’ to attempt to find anyone else eager to see THE GOON realised on the big-screen. Check out their brilliantly funny pitch to appeal to as many people as possible…
THE GOON already has the voice talent in place with Paul Giamatti and Clancy Brown as the main players. You can find out how you can help get the film made by clicking this link www.kickstarter.com.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
