Film’s Most Badass Getaway Drivers

Funny man, Dax Shepard adds a new twist to the role of getaway driver through his character Yul Perrkins in his new film HIT AND RUN, out in cinemas on the 12th of October. Though he might not posses all of the characteristics of those legends in Hollywood’s past he does have the most important one and that is being a badass. In celebration of the movie release we took a look at some of the most badass getaway drivers.

Hit and Run

Unlike most crafty getaway drivers, Dax Shepard brings a bit of comedy to his portrayal of Yul Perrkins who also goes by the name Charlie. Yul went into the witness protection program where he became known as Charlie. Yul has many skeletons in his closet that catch up with Charlie where he has to resource to what he knows, being a badass getaway driver.

Fast and Furious

Vin Diesel effortlessly takes on the role of Dominic Toretto. With a career in criminal enterprises, he is a tough and impulsive guy that isn’t burdened by the laws he is breaking. He has a fascination with street racing and hijacking cars. At the same time he is very protective over his sister and always puts family first.

Drive

Ryan Gosling as a getaway driver who’s so mysterious he doesn’t even have a name and goes by ‘Driver.’ It doesn’t get more badass than that. Driver is a solitary man that has a passion for driving. He has a knack for finding danger and then faces it head on. The only rules that he follows are his own.

Transporter

Jason Statham cleverly shaped the character of Frank Martin into the stealthy badass driver that he is. Martin’s past in the military as a special forces operator leader for a search and destroy unit added to his success as a private driver for hire where he delivers packages and isn’t allowed to ask any questions.

The Italian Job

Frank Jarvis set the tone for badass getaway drivers when he played the role of Roger in the original The Italian Job. He defined badass as being rebellious, fearless and having no regard for the law. Roger was always well dressed and always had a cigarette in his hand or mouth.

HIT AND RUN is released on 12th October 2012 in the UK and Ireland.
