Affleck In Talks To Direct Another Lehane Novel With ‘Live By Night’

Academy Award winner Ben Affleck may return to the novels of Dennis Lehane for his next film. Affleck is currently in talks to direct and star in an adaptation of Lehane’s prohibition era, Boston set LIVE BY NIGHT. Affleck started his directing career with the spectacular adaptation of Lehane’s GONE BABY GONE. LIVE BY NIGHT was only published last week, but the rights were acquired back in spring. The book focuses on Joe Coughlin, a man who rebels against his cop father, and goes into a life of crime. No doubt there’s a struggle between family and ‘family’.

Always excited for a Ben Affleck film and with ARGO out soon and receiving rave reviews it will be great to see Affleck tackle a period piece that goes even further back in time.

ARGO is released 9th November 2012 in the UK. It stars Ben Affleck, John Goodman, Bryan Cranston, Clea DuVall, Alan Arkin and Kyle Chandler.
