Nobody does monsters like Guillermo del Toro, and if monsters are your thing, then you probably know all about PACIFIC RIM already. The hotly-anticipated movie will see Earth come under an alien attack, forcing us puny humans to fight them off by piloting giant battle robots. All of which – and let’s be honest – sounds frickin’ awesome. What’s most exciting is that PACIFIC RIM marks del Toro’s first foray into monster action on this scale – and if his past work is anything to go by, it should be the most satisfying smackdown since Nick Fury introduced Tony Stark to his ‘Avengers Initiative’.
Even though the film isn’t due until summer 2013, the fanboys are still whipping themselves into a frenzy, thanks in no small part to del Toro’s presence at the New York Comic-Con, where he’ll be representing PACIFIC RIM and signing copies of this awesome artwork, which has been designed by PAN’S LANYRINTH concept artist Raúl Monge. The poster reveal also comes with news that a prequel graphic novel will accompany the film, which will include details and backstory on the movie’s characters.
Check it out below!
PACIFIC RIM stars Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Charlie Day, and Charlie Hunman. It arrives in cinemas 12th July 2013.
