Those looking forward to Peter Jackson’s return to Middle Earth with the first of his HOBBIT trilogy, will get a much added bonus with news the great singer/songwriter and guitarist Neil Finn of CROWDED HOUSE and SPIT ENZ-fame will feature on the soundtrack and closing credits of AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY. The fellow Kiwi has been busy with solo projects (as well as working alongside brother Tim) following the bands break-up in 1997, who also subsequently reformed 2006 for a short time.
THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY is the prequel to the epic LORD OF THE RINGS novels by J.R.R. Tolkien which Jackson adapted into a trio of critically-acclaimed, box-office smashes during 2000-20003. The first film will hit cinemas in 16th December followed by THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG and THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN slated for 13th December 2013 and 18th July 2014 respectively.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
