If we all just swear that we’ll go and see THE HOBBIT, perhaps they’ll lighten up on the ferocious marketing campaign they’ve got going on. We’ve seen trailers, posters, online games and Andy Serkis reading the novel, and now we have 4 new banners. THE HOBBIT details how The One Ring fell into the possession of Bilbo Baggins. It had something to do with dwarves, a dragon, and some other stuff you’re probably not even interested in. I do like these new banners, although I’m not entirely sure as to why. They have a certain charm about them which ties in nicely with THE LORD OF THE RINGS but also separates it as an individual story.
THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY is released 14th December 2012. It stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lilly, Elijah Wood, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Richard Armitage, Orlando Bloom, Christopher Lee, Aiden Turner, Ian Holm, Billy Connolly, and Lee Pace.
