Broken Lizard’s Jay Chandrasekhar To Take On ‘Yogi Bear 2’

Jay Chandrasekhar will be known to many as part of the fantastic comedy troupe Broken Lizard, the guys behind comedy greats such as SUPER TROOPERS (2001), BEERFEST (2006), and THE SLAMMIN’ SALMON (2010). He’s also done a lot of solo work in TV and film, including his most recent effort THE BABYMAKERS, which THN reviewed here. He’s now been given directing and re-writing duties for a sequel to 2010’s YOGI BEAR. Chandrasekhar seems to take on whatever work he can, and if itgoes towards funding his own personal projects, then I say ‘Go for it.’

YOGI BEAR was far from a decent film. In fact it was horrid. But then again, I just hate the character to such a degree, it’s not even funny. He’s a thoughtless, annoying, psychopath, that has no empathy towards others and only cares about stuffing his fat, stupid face. Hopefully Chandrasekhar can add some real humour to the upcoming sequel, and maybe then can go all out with an R-rated comedy in which it’s bear hunting season. I say cast Andy Dick as Timothy Treadwell.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
