We all know him as Agent Coulson in AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, but Clark Gregg is all set to take a turn behind the camera for a project called TRUST ME, which he will write and direct. Unified Pictures, Savage Bunny and Bron Studios will produce the film, which is being described a film that revolves around child stars and the obsession with stardom.
The story follows a loser agent for young actors — and a washed-up child star himself — who stumbles upon a brilliant 13-year-old prodigy (to be played by newcomer Saxon Sharbino) and then tries to close the mega-deal that will make her a star while managing her drunk volatile father, the poaching attempts of a more successful nemesis and a growing awareness that his innocent young starlet may not be at all what she seems.
Amanda Peet, Paul Sparks, Felicity Huffman, Allison Janney, William H. Macy, Molly Shannon, Niecy Nash and Sam Rockwell will star.
Gregg has handled directing duties before with the 2008 film CHOKE, and also has a writing credit on an upcoming movie collaboration with Curtis Hanson. He will next be seen in Joss Whedon’s version of the Shakespeare classic MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, which has a release date set for 10th October in the UK.
