Ang Lee And Yann Martel Talk ‘Life Of Pi’ At The New York Film Festival – LIVE!

There’s an often over-used phrase in the world of film but one that’s truly highly anticipated is Ang Lee’s LIFE OF PI. Based on the best-selling novel by Yann Martel, the LIFE OF PI utilises ground-breaking techniques to capture the story’s epic scope onto the big screen.

Audiences will follow Pi Patel as he travels from an exotic zoo in India on a voyage across the Pacific, where he survives a shipwreck and is cast adrift in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger as his only company. Adrift in an endless expanse of ocean, Pi struggles to survive and train his companion. He lands on a magical island before finally completing a remarkable journey. Over in New York, LIFE OF PI opened the 50th York Film Festival and we’ve still have the live stream that featured Ang Lee and author Yann Martel as they sat down with the Film Society of Lincoln Center Program Director Richard Peña for a discussion of Martel’s Booker Prize-winning book.
