Like Boba Fett, Hannibal Lecter, and Phil Collins in HOOK (1991), the character of Thanos did a lot with very little screentime in this summer’s biggest smash THE AVENGERS. Everyone’s talking about his future inclusion in upcoming Marvel projects GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and THE AVENGERS 2, and now we have some concept art of the big purple guy to share with you. For those that still don’t know about Thanos, check out our helpful guide to all the future Marvel villains.
The concept art shows how much detail and attention goes into even the smallest parts of the film. The majority of Thanos was in the darkness for his few seconds of fame, and yet we can see fully designed costumes of the evil beggar in these pics. Perhaps this will hint at how we can expect him to look for the next Marvel films.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will be directed by James Gunn and will be released 1st August 2014. THE AVENGERS 2 will be released 1st May 2015.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
