IDENTITY THIEF is the upcoming comedy starring Jason Bateman and BRIDESMAIDS’ Melissa McCarthy. I’m surprised this is a comedy and not a hard hitting expose on the emotional turmoil one goes through when they find their life hijacked, but there you go. The trailer is set to go online soon, but until then we have two character posters to amuse you. Bateman’s poster asks ‘Is This The Face Of A Sucker?’ a hotly debated topic indeed after his 1980s double faux pas of TEEN WOLF TOO (1987) and BATES MOTEL (1987). The film will see McCarthy steal Bateman’s identity. Simple enough concept, and one that could result in a potentially hilarious film. I’m just hoping they avoid any needless romantic shenanigans and focus of forgiveness and redemption.
IDENTITY THIEF is released 1st March 2013. It stars Jason Bateman, Melissa McCarthy, John Cho, Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet, and Eric Stonestreet.
