Grimmfest 2012 Is Creeping Up On You This October!

Last month we were treated to the annual gore-some visit of horror from far and wide with London’s FrightFest but we also have another festival filled with fear (and fun) on the way in Manchester from 4th – 7th October. Grimmfest 2012 will see more cult and horror dished out with another helping of guts, gore and greatness as fans flock to exclusive premieres for some highly anticipated features along with special guests, plus THN will be there bring you all the coverage. There is also a special preview night on the 3rd October that will see Scott Derrickson’s SINSTER and body-horror AMERICAN MARY set the tone for the remainder of the event.

The suitably creepy month makes it the perfect time to catch a number of high-profile, independent and classic offerings which we hope will have us biting our nails, covering our eyes and maybe a chuckle or two amongst the blood-filled carnage. If you’re wanting to take a peak and make a visit, you’ll be able to catch the likes of  the booze-filled splatterfest GRABBERS, Wesley Snipes’ Zombie-infested western GALLOWWALKER and british thriller COMEDOWN. There is also a very special screening of Clive Barker’s infamous NIGHTBREED, with THE CABAL CUT giving us a new restoration of Barker’s intense horrific vision and so much more!

Details of the all features, guests, parties and competitions being covered at Grimmfest and how to get tickets, can be found on the official website Grimmfest.com as well as the Facebook page.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
