Gyllenhaal Joins Forces With Jackman In ‘Prisoners’

No stranger to on-screen sleuthing – as demonstrated by his role of obsessive code-cracker Robert Graysmith in ZODIAC – Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly taking the role of a detective in director Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming PRISONERS.

The film is also set to star Hugh Jackman, who will play a small town everyman who turns vigilante after his daughter is kidnapped and the police are unable to crack the case. Jackman is sure to tangle with Gyllenhaal’s cop somewhere down the line, possibly offering up the Wolverine Vs Donnie Darko smackdown we’ve all been waiting for.

Gyllenhaal is also working with Villeneuve on AN ENEMY, hence his casting in the kidnap thriller. Melissa Leo has also recently joined PRISONERS, though details on her role are unclear at the moment. The is set to arrive late 2013.
