The problem with making a film about Noah’s Ark was always going to be the issue of logistics: the notion of cramming two of every animal into a single boat might be passable in the pages of a book, but to turn that into a live action scenario is bordering preposterous. Surely Russell Crowe’s Noah couldn’t feasibly collect all those animals…? However, from the looks of this picture – tweeted by cinematographer Matthew Libatique – he’s given it a good bloody go. Even if he has overdone it on the snakes slightly.
It is, of course, NOAH, directed by Darren Aronofsky, which is set to get all biblical on our assess in 2014, and will see Crowe’s Noah build an eff-off boat to save himself and the animals from a great flood. Better stock up on Pot Noodles as well as snakes, buddy – sounds like you’ll be out there for some time.
The movie stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Saoirse Ronan, Douglas Booth, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, and Kevin Durand.
