Despite working on some huge films, character actor Bill Paxton and leading man Tom Cruise have never worked together. This is all set to change as Paxton may be cast in Doug Liman’s latest science-fiction thriller ALL YOU NEED IS KILL. ALL YOU NEED IS KILL is based on a Japanese comic by writers Hiroshi Sakurazaka and Yoshitoshi Abe, and sounds a lot like GROUNDHOG DAY/SOURCE CODE as Tom Cruise plays a soldier in a war against aliens who must continually live out the day of his death. Paxton is slated to star as Cruise’s platoon leader.
I love the sound of this film, and adding Paxton to the cast is just icing on the already delicious fattening cake. However, Liman struggled with his last sci-fi attempt JUMPER, but excelled with action in THE BOURNE IDENTITY.
ALL YOU NEED IS KILL will be released in 2013 and starts shooting later in the Autumn in London. It stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Charlotte Riley.
