Philip Seymour Hoffman Jumping Back Behind The Camera For ‘Ezekiel Moss’

With all the buzz surrounding his latest performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s THE MASTER, it’s the perfect time for Philip Seymour Hoffman to get the ball rolling on his second directorial effort. Hoffman will be directing EZEKIEL MOSS, a depression era ghost story which wound up on 2011’s Black List. Produced by Mandalay Pictures and written by Keith Bunin, the film focuses on a small town in Nebraska, where a mysterious stranger, who can possibly channel the spirits of the dead, arrives. Cathy Schulman from Mandalay Pictures spoke about Hoffman’s involvement with the project:

Hoffman is one of the great talents of our generation.  We are thrilled to be in his capable hands directing this captivating and gothic exploration of faith and the supernatural.

Hoffman is always fascinating no matter his capacity concerning a film, and even though his directorial debut JACK GOES BOATING, wasn’t particularly memorable, EZEKIEL MOSS sounds as though it has the right elements to make an impact.

THE MASTER is released in the UK 9th November. It stars Phillips Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Laura Dern.
