JACK REACHER seems to have a lukewarm feel throughout the offices of THN. It appears very few of us are looking forward (or even bothered) to seeing Cruise’s ex-military cop’s bad-assary! However, I certainly am, despite knowing bugger all about the character or even read any of Lee Child’s novels. My excitement comes from seeing Christopher McQuarrie back behind the camera after 12 years. He’s perhaps most familiar for his screenplay work on THE USUAL SUSPECTS or VALKYRIE but his directorial debut THE WAY OF THE GUN was a violent-as-hell modern crime masterpiece starring Ryan Phillippe and Benicio Del Toro.
Back to JACK REACHER and we have another new still, this time with Cruise and British beauty Rosamund Pike. Also the man in middle, in the cop uniform looks suspiciously like author Lee Child. There is no confirmation that it is indeed the characters creator, of if he does have a cameo in the film but we’ll try to get confirmation. If it’s not, he’s a dead ringer!
JACK REACHER hits cinemas 26th December and co-stars David Oyelowo, Richard Jenkins, Alexia Fast, Robert Duvall, Jai Courtney and Werner Herzog.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
