Just How ‘Sinister’ Is This Poster?

The promotional campaign for Scott Derrickson’s forthcoming frightener SINISTER has been a pretty darn effective one. Every poster, trailer or image seems to ooze chills, and this latest poster is no different. THN were lucky enough to check out an early screening of the film at this years FrightFest and we can promise the film doesn’t skimp out on the scares (check out our quick review HERE).

The film, headlined by TRAINING DAY’s Ethan Hawke, sees his struggling author find the ultimate inspiration for a new crime novel in his newly acquired home, that was once the scene of a family massacre. Some old home movies found in the attic hold some rather horrific clues as to what happened to the previous owners…and what’s creeping around the corner for his!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
