Yesterday we brought you some images from the set of the THOR sequel, THE DARK WORLD, which is currently shooting in Bourne Wood, Surrey. Today we’re able to bring you the first battle images, along with new behind-the-scenes video footage that gives us our first look at the Marvel superhero in his familiar ‘get-up’. The sequel, which is scheduled to hit cinemas 8th November 2013, is being overseen by GAME OF THRONES’ regular director Alan Taylor, who has certainly brought more than a touch of that epic, action-packed series to this latest Marvel effort.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD will see Chris Hemsworth reprise his role from both the first film and superhero team-up AVENGERS ASSEMBLE. Also returning are Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgard, Rene Russo and Ray Stevenson, alongside newcomers Christopher Ecclestone, Zachary Levi and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
