FRANKENWEENIE is nearly upon and the stakes are high after DARK SHADOWS failed in almost every respect as a coherent film. The trailers, posters, and footage so far has kept me interested and optimistic, especially the 360 tour we reported on yesterday. Now we can take a look at a funny scene that captures the B-Movie feel of the 1950s perfectly. It has Martin Landau’s Mr. Rzykruski giving a terrifying but fascinating talk on electrons and lightning, which obviously goes some way to inspiring Victor in his attempts to bring his dog, Sparky, back to life. Martin Landau’s voice-work sounds excellent and if my science teachers had been this engaging I may have learnt something.
FRANKENWEENIE is released in the UK 17th October 2012. It stars the vocal talents of Charlie Tahan, Winona Ryder, Christopher Lee, Martin Short, Martin Landau, and Catherine O’Hara.
