Adrien Brody Stars In Trailer & Images For Feng Xiaogang’s ‘Back to 1942’

BACK TO 1942 is directed by Feng Xiaogang (AFTERSHOCK) and is an adaptation of a novel by Liu Zhenyun. This Adrien Brody and Tim Robbins-starring affair, looks to be a very heavy-hearted journey indeed. Set in the darkest time of China’s history, it sees them deal with famine, warfare and deep human suffering during World War II.

On a slightly bright side, it’s interesting to see Robbins and especially Brody in a deeply serious role again and they portray a Catholic priest and an American journalist respectively. BACK TO 1942 focuses on the time when a devastating famine struck the Henan Province, just when China were at war with and partially occupied by Japan. This film is bound to stir up some strong performances and rightly so, it also stars Xu Fan (AFTERSHOCK) and Zhang Hanyu (ASSEMBLY), you must watch the trailer:

BACK TO 1942 has no set date outside of China, as yet, but opens there in November.
