The Bourne Woods in Surrey will be recognisable to some as the location for the opening scene of Ridley Scott’s GLADIATOR (2000). But Marvel are replacing roman soldiers with the mighty warriors of Asgard for THOR: THE DARK WORLD sequel to THOR and follow-up to the monster smash THE AVENGERS. These latest stills from the set (see previous pics here) are loaded with action, explosions, and awesome costumes. My personal favourite is the site of Jamie Alexander returning as Lady Sif as she rides into battle.
It’s great to see such fantastical visions brought to life in the real world, and not being completely reliant on CGI wizardry.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD is released 8th November 2013. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Christopher Eccleston, Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Zachary Levi, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, and Tadanobu Asano.

Those are great photos. Looks like it is going to be a great movie. Anything with Chris Eccleston should be great!
