It’s about time someone saw BREAKING BAD’s awesome Aaron Paul for the star that he is. His pivotal role in the dark, drug-addled drama series may be sometimes overlooked due to the brilliant performances of Bryan Cranston, but without Paul’s conflicted Jesse I don’t think the show (or even Cranston) could have made the iconic impact it now has. Mary Elizabeth Winstead too is a stunner and an acting talent on the rise, and hopefully the drama SMASHED will be a gripping portrayal of a destructive relationship. Both characters are heading towards a collision as two lovers struggling to change their reckless lifestyle they have become accustomed to, before it’s too late.

We’re able to bring you both the first poster and trailer from the film, that earlier this year won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance. Directed by James Ponsoldt, SMASHED is slated for a release in the US for 12th October but still awaiting a UK date.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
