J.J. Abrams’ STAR TREK very own Spock, Zachary Quinto, has recently been talking about what we can expect from the forthcoming follow-up film for the iconic science-fiction world. Usually, when we report any breaking news articles, we’d stick with the basic moniker (and really what most would have expected) STAR TREK 2. However, that will now change as something has been stirring in cyberspace with news that a number of internet domains entitled www.startrekintodarknessmovie and www.startrekintodarkness.com were registered at the weekend.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS has now been confirmed as the title of Abrams’ much anticipated sequel, which will see the return of Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood and Quinto as the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The origin and name of the villain being played by British thesp Benedict Cumberbatch is still under wraps…but I’m sure we all expect it to be Khan after all.
The film is set to open on 17th May 2013.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
