The first rule of having a ginger child is don’t call them Ginger. GINGER & ROSA is the coming of age tale of two young girls living in London in 1962. They do all that growing up stuff, such as kissing boys, smoking, listening to inappropriate music and fearing the nuclear holocaust because of the Cold War. The film has built up a very impressive supporting cast and the performances look exceptionally strong. It’s nice to see a familiar story set against a not so familiar background. I also like the setting as it sets it apart from America and the Soviet Union, showing how far the fear of such devastation could reach.
GINGER & ROSA is released 19th October 2012. It stars Elle Fanning, Alice Englert, Christina Hendricks, Timothy Spall, Annette Bening, and Alessandro Nivola.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.

Looks nice and serious, mean that in a positive way as well.
Hendricks and Fanning both continue to choose really interesting roles as well.
