Bruce Willis To Mentor An ‘American Assassin’

Not content with cracking more skulls in forthcoming actioners LOOPER, A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD. RED 2 and G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, Bruce Willis will play a top CIA agent who’ll mentor a young revenge-seeking terrorist victim in AMERICAN ASSASSIN. The film is set to be directed by TRAITOR’s Jeffrey Nachmanoff, who most recently helmed a number of episodes of acclaimed series HOMELAND.

The focus will now fall on casting his young protoge, who after his longtime lover is murdered, decides to make it his mission to join up with the CIA and right some wrongs. AMERICAN ASSASSIN is based on the novel by Vince Flynn. We’ll keep you posted on more casting details, as we get them.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
