New 50s-Centric ‘Frankenweenie’ Clip Is A Classic!

Tim Burton is always at his best when telling spooky tales and FRANKENWEENIE is his love-letter to the days of Universal’s classic monsters, Vincent Price and William Castle. His latest is along the same fun-but-macabre lines as CORPSE BRIDE and the now classic THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (directed by Henry Selick but was created and produced by Burton).

We’re looking forward to seeing Burton bring us his grisly gothic charm, which is more than evident in this brilliant new clip giving us the plot outline of young Victor Frankenstein and his early attempts in bringing his recently deceased dog Sparky, back to life. Shot in black and white, does wonders! Check it out!

FRANKENWEENIE will re-animate in cinemas 17th October with a voice talent cast that includes Martin Landau, Martin Short, Christopher Lee, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara. The family film is based on Burton’s short film VICTOR, which he made in 1984.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
