With Sam Mendes reuniting with his ROAD TO PERDITION star Daniel Craig as James Bond in SKYFALL, much as been made of just how long or how many more times, we will expect to see Craig in the role. While we never suspected the forthcoming outing would be his last, we had no confirmation on when his time would come to an end. However, we may have just discovered that answer!
The MI6 website, and home of everything Bond related, has announced Craig has signed up for two more missions as her Majesty’s finest super-spy. Whether his fifth film (making him the third longest actor in the iconic role behind Sean Connery and Roger Moore) will be his final appearance remains to be seen. We think he’ll consider that decision when the time comes, but in the meantime I think a lot of us are happy to be stuck with Craig for now.
SKYFALL is released in cinemas 5th October and co-stars Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomi Harris, Albert Finney and Berenice Marlohe.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
