There’s a mouthful of a title for yer. Yes, the dead one of Monty Python is getting his own biopic, which is justifiably and pleasingly weird as you would imagine. Or perhaps it’s something you can’t quite imagine. The story of Graham Chapman’s life is being told through a number of different animated shorts helmed by different directors. The film is based on the autobiography of Graham Chapman, and will be told by himself thanks to the technology of recorded voices. What an age! The rest of the Monty Python gang (minus Eric Idle) are along for the ride to give their accounts of Chapman. It looks odd, it looks bizarre, and it looks bloomin’ interesting. No one expects a biopic told in 17 different animation styles.
A LIAR’S AUTOBIOGRAPHY: THE UNTRUE STORY OF MONTY PYTHON’S GRAHAM CHAPMAN is yet to receive a specific release date. It stars Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, and Terry Gilliam.
