He’s one of the boogeymen uttered in the same breath as Jason, Freddy and Michael Myers, now we’re soon going to get a new interpretation of Tobe Hooper’s human butcher Leatherface in John Lussenhop’s forthcoming chase’n’chop reboot TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D.
The film will be headlined by up and coming actress Alexandra Daddorio, whose already made a name for herself as a scream-queen in Stevan Mena’s intense cult horror BEREAVEMENT (2010), itself a prequel to his nail-biting serial-killer thriller MALEVOLENCE (2004). Both films are well worth a watch if you’re a horror hound.
In the meantime, we’re able to bring you the first official still (and don’t forget the rather grisly poster) from director Lussenhop’s hopefully gore-some effort, that sees the return of former favourites of the franchise, Bill Moseley, Marilyn Burns, John Dugan and the legendary first swinger of the saw, Gunner Hansen.
TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D escapes on the 4th January, 2013.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
