The god that is Ryan Gosling is to step behind the camera and make his directorial debut with a feature he’s written entitled HOW TO CATCH A MONSTER. The film, being described as a ‘fantasy noir’, will feature his voluptuous DRIVE co-star Christina Hendricks.
MAD MEN star Hendricks will headline as Billy, a single mother of two, who is swept into a macabre and mysterious fantasy underworld while her teenage son uncovers a secret road leading to an underwater city. Both Billy and her son must travel there and solve the puzzle, if their family is to survive.
This all sounds very intriguing and fascinating. With Gosling calling the shots and Hendricks finally being given a lead in a Hollywood project, this could be something very special indeed.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
