DRAGONOLOGY are a series of books written as long-lost works of non-fiction by Dr. Ernest Drake from the 19th century. Kind of like found-footage films. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the guys behind the upcoming THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN sequel and VAN HELSING reboot, are set to produce this adaptation.
The books are written as educational pieces teaching you about what kinds of dragons there are, how to track dragons, the dragon language, etc. So I’m not even sure if there is a plot to turn into a film here. DRAGONOLOGY has also been adapted into a number of board games and video games. Orci and Kurtzman had best be careful, as dragon films don’t usually work out for the best, even if they have a plot. ERAGON! But they are probably hoping for a more adult version of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON.
