STAR WARS: DETOURS is George Lucas’ latest cash grab…I mean reinterpretation of his classic franchise. He’s teamed up with the makers of ROBOT CHICKEN to show us a comedic look at what happens in a galaxy far, far, away when they’re not fighting battles. It takes place between Episodes III and IV and doesn’t look as though it should be considered canon. The designs are pretty awesome and the clips and trailer below did make me laugh a number of times.
If you were a fan of ROBOT CHICKEN’s STAR WARS specials, then you’re probably going to enjoy this, and it’s nice that we’ll have a decent comedy show that is still suitable for kids. Some of the highlights from below include a young Admiral Akbar trying to work out his famous catchphrase ‘It’s a ruse!’ and a teenage Princess Leia enjoying lunch with her decoys.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
