The teaser trailer to Christopher McQuarrie’s action-thriller JACK REACHER looked pretty promising, with the always-reliable Tom Cruise controversially cast as Lee Child’s merciless former military man. The film, based on the literary best-seller One Shot, has been adapted by THE USUAL SUSPECTS scribe McQuarrie who makes his second foray behind the camera after 2000’s violent modern masterpiece THE WAY OF THE GUN. The plot centres on an investigation involving a man protesting his innocence after the assassination of five victims, requesting that Jack Reacher discover the truth.
Along with Tom Cruise, the film features a terrific supporting cast that includes Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, Jai Courtney, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall and Werner Herzog. JACK REACHER will hit cinemas 26th December.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
