Grim Red Band Trailer For Lawless

Here is the latest Red Band trailer for the upcoming LAWLESS starring Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy.

This is certainly NSFW as there’s nudity and violence. Nothing too graphic, but that’s what makes it more unsettling. It’s more about what you don’t see that adds to the grim nature of the trailer, and vicariously the film. Keep an eye out for the petrol pump bit. Horrible, yet compelling. A bit like X Factor.

LAWLESS follows the trials of the Bondurant Boys, led by Forrest (Hardy in his second nasty turn of the year), who have a monopoly on the towns bootlegging. But with rival hooch barons and corrupt officials muscling in on their business, the net is closing on Forrest and his brothers Howard, played by Jason Clarke (PUBLIC ENEMIES, THE GREAT GATSBY) and Shia LaBeouf (a truckload of arse). It also stars Hardy’s DARK KNIGHT RISES and TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY co-star Gary Oldman as tommy gun wielding Floyd Banner, Guy Pearce as Special Agent Charlie Rakes as well as Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasicowska as Hardy and LaBeouf’s respective love interests (though one hopes they will get to do more than swoon). It is directed by John Hillcoat and written by singer Nick Cave, who collaborated together on THE PROPOSITION (2005). It is based on the novel The Wettest County In The World, written by Matt Bondurant, real life descendent  of the Bondurant Boys.

Here’s the trailer.

LAWLESS is due for release on the 7th of September.

John is a gentleman, a scholar, he’s an acrobat. He is one half of the comedy duo Good Ol’ JR, and considers himself a comedy writer/performer. This view has been questioned by others. He graduated with First Class Honours in Media Arts/Film & TV, a fact he will remain smug about long after everyone has stopped caring. He enjoys movies, theatre, live comedy and writing with the JR member and hetero life partner Ryan. Some of their sketches can be seen on YouTube and YOU can take their total hits to way over 17!
