Joe Carnahan recently had his fantastic pitch for a DAREDEVIL reboot rejected at 20th Century Fox (View his sizzle reels here). This means that the rights will probably revert back to Marvel and who knows what plans, if any, they have for the man without fear. But there are plenty of fish left in the sea and now the writer of KICK-ASS, Mark Millar, is reporting that Joe Carnahan is to direct an adaptation of his comic NEMESIS which focuses on a villain rather than a hero. Mark Millar’s original promotional line for NEMESIS was ‘What if Batman was a total cunt?’ which I like a lot. NEMESIS is rich and resourceful, but kills off police officers around the world. NEMESIS was originally going to be a project for the late Tony Scott who passed away earlier this week.
I think Joe Carnahan is a fantastic director and absolutely loved his take on THE A-TEAM. His sizzle reels for DAREDEVIL were also very exciting and I’m kind of hoping Marvel goes with his idea when they eventually reboot the franchise.
