Who’d like some new tension-filled shots of McAdams and Rapace that give away absolutely nothing, in terms of plot, for Brian De Palma’s upcoming erotic thriller PASSION? Is that everyone with a beating heart? Deal.
Back in May, we featured the seductive looking McAdams seemingly looking to jump anyone she could get her hands on. Today, we’ve got her looking a little guilty, characters staring intently at each other and just teases of what seriousness to expect from De Palma. The film is a remake of Alain Corneau’s 2010 film CRIME D’AMOUR and focuses around two women, one is blonde career driven Christine (McAdams) who has a senior position at a highly successful advertising agency and the other is Isabel (Rapace), a quiet yet ambitious brunette who’s quite possibly looking for a way to climb the metaphorical business ladder.
Taken from the official release over on TIFF, it also gives us more of an insight into the plot:
When Christine claims credit for a daring marketing campaign that was entirely Isabel’s idea, the gloves start to come off in subtle ways. Isabel is initially disarmed by her boss’ candour: as Christine explains it, stealing her idea was simply business. But things change when Christine humiliates Isabel in public. With the plot set in motion, De Palma uncorks all the stops and, with wild abandon, launches into a labyrinthine revenge story.
We’re pretty hopeful of many things for this film, it’s sure to be thrilling as a drama and with those two leading ladies, we’re also definite that the PASSION De Palma is looking for, will come through. Here’s those stills:
PASSION is, ah hem, released is 2013, with a UK released date yet to be confirmed. The film also stars Karoline Herfurth and Paul Anderson.
