A Female Version Of ‘The Expendables’? They’ll Be Driving Cars Next!

Production company 1984 Private Defense Contractors (that’s a mouthful), the guys behind MACHINE GUN PREACHER and THE GREY are looking to go ahead with an all woman version of THE EXPENDABLES. Writer Dutch Southern is going to be the one behind the script but what people would really want to know is, who are the stars going to be? No names have been dropped as of yet, but we all know that everyone is going to speculate. I think the obvious choices would be Linda Hamilton, Sigourney Weaver, and Michelle Yeoh. It’s a lot harder to think of action women, as the ladies have to have a variety of talents and can’t just rest on their physiques.

It all sounds a bit gimmicky to me, but then again so is THE EXPENDABLES.  It could be a lot of fun, but don’t the girls already have their own version of THE EXPENDABLES. It’s called THE WOMEN (2008) and stars Meg Ryan, Bette Midler, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Annette Bening,  and Jada Pinkett Smith. That film literally had no men in it. At least THE EXPENDABLES had some of the fairer sex.
