Who would have thunk it that we’d see a Bane and General Zod team up before we saw Batman and Superman together? Tom Hardy and Michael Shannon have been cast in the film adaptation of the stage play THE LONG RED ROAD. Hardy will reprise the role he played in the play, which was originally directed by Phillip Seymour Hoffman. There is no word yet as to whether or not Hoffman will direct the film version. Hardy plays Sammy, a man hiding out in South Dakota, drinking his life away. Michael Shannon will play his older brother.
I’m always suspicious of play adaptations. A lot of the time you still feel claustrophobic and the actors seem limited in their surroundings. Hopefully the film will branch out and not rely on the dialogue alone.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
