Robert Pattinson To Star As ‘Queen Of The Desert’?

Keeping his head up high and his composure together, Robert Pattinson (TWILIGHT, REMEMBER ME) is still one of the biggest young stars in Hollywood at the moment. It seems as if he’s also trying to keep himself busy, as it’s been announced he is to join the cast of QUEEN OF THE DESERT, which is to be directed by acclaimed German filmmaker Werner Herzog.

Pattinson is to feature alongside Australian blonde beauty Naomi Watts (MULHOLLAND DRIVE, KING KONG), who is to star as Gertrude Bell. The film, which is a biopic of Bell’s life, focuses on her work in the Middle East – in particular Iraq and Jordan. As an explorer, political activist and writer, Bell was extremely well-known, especially for her commitment in stabilizing self-destructive countries. With that being said, Pattinson is to play Bell’s close friend, T.E. Lawrence (aka Lawrence of Arabia). Lawrence also dealt with Middle Eastern countries, which helped forge his nickname.

If given the right project, Pattinson can really shine. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
