New Red Band Trailer For ‘End Of Watch’

The writer of TRAINING DAY(2001) and director of HARSH TIMES (2005) and STREET KINGS (2008), David Ayer, brings us his next cops and criminals drama END OF WATCH. If it ain’t broke. Two cops played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena have a price on their head after pissing off a drug cartel. The Red Band trailer is filled with plenty of foul language and violent visuals, most shockingly a knife sticking out of a police officers eye.

I’d consider this to be a fairly poor trailer as I have no idea what this film is. Is it a found footage movie? Or is it just looking for a realistic/documentary feel? It’s hard to tell as it has some first person shooter scenes, night vision, cop car footage, and what looks like talking to the camera, but then we have action scenes, huge stars, and extreme violence. The dialogue and performances seem very reminiscent of Ayers’ previous work but not in an uncomfortably repetitive kind of way. Like Ayers’ previous directorial efforts, I will probably be waiting for a rental.

END OF WATCH is released 23rd November 2012. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Pena, Anna Kendrick, Cody Horn and America Ferrera.
