Alice Krige Joins ‘Thor: The Dark World’

Alice Krige has joined the cast of THOR: THE DARK WORLD. It hasn’t been announced what her role will be, but considering Christopher Eccleston was recently cast as the villain Malekith, I was hazard a guess that Krige will also be playing one of the dark elves. After all she does share some facial similarities with Eccleston. Krige did mention she would be mostly unrecognizable, so we can expect some prosthesis to be involved.

Krige will be familiar to Star Trek fans as she played the Borg Queen in STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT (1996). She also had roles in DEADWOOD and SILENT HILL (2006). I think she’ll make a great addition to the cast and it certainly shows that even after THE AVENGERS success Marvel are still favouring talent over star status.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD is released 8th November 2013. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Christopher Eccleston, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Alice Krige and Zachary Levi.
