Guess what Terry Gilliam’s next film wont be? That’s right THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE. But to keep the man from going 100% insane, he’s lined himself up another project. Gilliam’s next film will be titled THE ZERO THEOREM and will adapted from a script by Pat Rushin. Christoph Waltz has been cast in the lead and will play Qohen Leth; a reclusive computer genius setting out to discover the secrets behind all existence. To do this he explores something known as the zero theorem and some guy called Bob helps him by creating a suit.
Bob creates a virtual reality ‘inner-space’ suit that will carry Qohen on an inward voyage, a close encounter with the hidden dimensions and truth of his own soul, wherein lie the answers both he and Management are seeking. The suit and supporting computer technology will perform an inventory of Qohen’s soul, either proving or disproving the Zero Theorem.
My head already hurts just trying to put the synopsis into words. Who knows what fascinating visuals Gilliam will produce, as it sounds as though he will be jumping between worlds yet again. Production is looking to begin at the end of October.
