As we approach the end the of 2012 Olympics, we’re reminded that there are many things that make us feel proud to be British, and not just Team GB: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright, for instance, who will soon return to filmmaking on this sceptered isle, with the conclusion to their ‘Blood and Ice-Cream trilogy’.
The movie, THE WORLD’S END, follows comedy gems SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOT FUZZ, and will see the trio embark on another very British story – this time around a group of old friends who reunite to relive a grueling pub crawl attempted years before. But it turns out there may be more at stake than their reputation as top-notch boozers, such as the fate of humankind.
Well that all sounds brilliant and very Pegg/Wright/Frost. However, reports have surfaced that Brit actress Rosamund Pike has also joined the cast in an undisclosed role. Pike is best know for her parts in DIE ANOTHER DAY, AN EDUCTAION and PRIDE & PREJUDICE. She will also be seen in the upcoming JACK REACHER with tiny Tom Cruise.
THE WORLD’S END begins shooting next month.
Somebody get the Cornettos in.
