Earlier in the week we confirmed that the female co-star in Kenneth Branagh’s forthcoming reboot of Tom Clancy’s heroic C.I.A analyst JACK RYAN, was down to three actresses. Now we’re able to confirm that Brit lovely Keira Knightley has beat off competition from fellow talented beauties Evangeline Lilly and Felicity Jones to land the role.
She is set to appear alongside the already confirmed Chris Pine, Kevin Costner and Branagh himself, in what Paramount hopes will be the beginning of new long-running franchise. The character as previously been played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck. Shooting is expected to begin late September for a release slated for next summer.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
